Father Accused of Sexually Assaulting His Three Young Children in Kanoni

Police officers at Bukandula Police Post in Kanoni, Gomba District, have arrested a 34-year-old man, Musisi Francis Mutyaba, a builder and resident of Bukandula B Village, Bukandula Parish, Kabulasoke Sub-County. He is accused of sexually assaulting his three children: a 7-year-old girl, a 10-year-old girl, and an 11-year-old boy.

The case was reported by Mukamukama Paskazia, a 70-year-old resident of Kigo A Village, Bukandula Parish, Kabulasoke Sub-County, who is the grandmother of the victims. According to reports, on February 16, 2025, Nabakibi Lucia, the victims’ aunt, was discussing puberty and related matters with the 10-year-old girl. During this conversation, Nabakibi discovered that the girl was no longer a virgin. The child then disclosed that her father had been sexually assaulting her, as well as her 7-year-old sister and 11-year-old brother.

Concerned, Nabakibi examined the 7-year-old girl and confirmed similar signs of abuse. She then informed the children’s grandmother, who reported the matter to Bukandula Police Post.

SP Majid Karim, the Public Relations Officer for Katonga Region, stated that cases of aggravated defilement, aggravated homosexuality, and incest have been registered at Bukandula Police Post. The investigation was subsequently transferred to Kanoni Central Police Station (CPS).

The suspect, Musisi, was arrested and medically examined under Police Form 24 (PF24). The victims were also examined, and statements were recorded from relevant witnesses. It was noted that Musisi had been living with the children in the same house.
