Detectives Hunt for Assailants in the Rape and Murder of Kayunga Businesswoman

Detectives at Kayunga Police Station are hunting for unidentified assailants who raped and killed a woman on the night of February 14, 2025, in Suuka Village, Kayunga Town Council, Kayunga District.

It is alleged that on the night of February 14, 2025, at an unknown time, the deceased, identified as Nyaketho Silver, a 35-year-old businesswoman, was travelling from Nakakonge Village to her home in Suuka Village when she was waylaid on the road by the unidentified assailant(s), who raped and later strangled her to death.

On February 15, 2025, at 13:00 hours, she was found in critical condition lying in a bush and was rushed to Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.

Unfortunately, on Sunday, February 16, 2025, she was pronounced dead by doctors at the hospital.

SP Butoto Hellen, PRO, Ssezibwa Region, stated that police collected a blood sample from the scene, which is pending submission to GAL for analysis.
