Ibanda man brutally kills 9-year-old own son, dumps body near army training school

Police in Ibanda have arrested a father for allegedly murdering his own 9 year old son after a domestic brawl with his wife.

The suspect is Vanancio Bainomugisha, a resident of Nyabigoye 1 Cell in Nyamarebe Sub County, who killed his own child only identified as Aijuka.

According to Boaz Atukwase Tumwine the Officer in Charge of Crime Investigations Department Kanyarugiri Police Station, Bainomugisha who has been held on several occasions over the use and sell of Marijuana and domestic violence admitted to killing his son.

The Nyabigoye 1 LC1 chairperson Godfrey Tabaaro Kanuuma says Bainomugisha is a known drug addict who has been assaulting people every time he smoked drugs.

According to Tabaaro, the suspect developed a misunderstanding with the wife and son over money they had sold from pan cakes.

Bainomugisha angrily picked a panga and cut his son Aijuka on the neck, before dumping his lifeless body near Bihanga Army Training school.

The suspect is currently in custody as investigations into the matter continue.
