Two police officers killed, 11 others injured in Gulu accident

Two police officers have died and 11 others are fighting for their lives after the vehicle they were travelling in overturned at Lapuda village, Paicho sub-county in Gulu district.

The accident which happened on 13/12/2022, at around 1800c involved motor vehicle registration No UP 5568 Land Cruiser which was carrying personnel from Gulu heading to Agago for special duty.

The deceased officers have been identified as -No,70210 PC-Epodoi Pius and No, 52736 PC-Odong D Marvin.

The Eleven injured officers include No.50242- CPL Odong Jacob, No.54039- PC Opio Junior Peter, No.69123- PC Omara Keneth, No.71786- PC Okello Daniel and No,52030- PC Candia James.

The other injured officers are; No,63881- PC Okura George, No,52265 – PC Ochora Simon, No,69676- PC Ekoju Vicent, No, 71120 PC Awuzu Vicent, No 50466 PC Okwera John and No, 68626 PC Okure Abraham.

The vehicle was being driven by PC Torah Calvin and all the officers are attached to FFU – Aswa Region.

According to ASP Faridah Nampiima the PRO Traffic and Road Safety Directorate, investigations into the cause of the accident have commenced.
