5 suspected thugs arrested in Makindye with machetes
Officers from Katwe Police Division have arrested five suspected criminals in an intelligence-led operation. The thugs were intercepted travelling in motor vehicle UBJ 267T.
Acting on intelligence information received, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy PRO KMP says that the police responded and arrested the suspects, preventing a potential crime from taking place that night.
During the operation that happened at midnight along calendar in Makindye, a number of exhibits, including masks, cutters, and pangas, were discovered and seized from the motor vehicle. These items are believed to have been intended for use in illegal activities.
“We commend the exemplary efforts of the Katwe Police Division for their rapid response and efficient coordination, which led to the successful arrest of the suspects. Their dedication and vigilance played a crucial role in deterring criminal activity and ensuring the safety of our community,” says Owoyesigyire.
He assured the public that further details regarding the incident will be provided promptly as additional information becomes available.
Owoyesigyire further urged the residents of Katwe and surrounding areas to remain vigilant and to continue reporting any suspicious activities or information that may aid the police in maintaining peace and security within our community.
