3 dead bodies recovered inside Pian Upe game reserve

The police have recovered 3 skeletal dead bodies of male adults inside Pian Upe game reserve at the border of Nakapiripirit and Kumi Districts.

AIP Longole Mike the Ag. PRO Mt Moroto says that on 6/1/2023, police received information through reliable sources that 4 people had been murdered and their bodies were hidden in the game reserve following a disagreement in the grazing area between the Pokot and the Pian communities.

According to Longole, they carried out a search with the help of political leaders on 7/1/2023 but did not find any bodies due to less information about the exact location.

However, on 5/2/2023, police received another reliable information from the locals on the exact location of the scene and the team managed to recover 3 bodies.

One skeletal body has since been identified by locals as Lomong Logirapus while the other two are yet to be identified.

The bodies have been conveyed to Tokora Health Centre IV for Postmortem.

“We applaud the commitment by the community and effort put in by our officers towards the recovery of the three bodies. We shall do our part in arresting and producing culprits in courts of law,” says Longole.
