28 year old Man Arrested for Defiling 4 year old Girl

A 28-year-old man identified as Tumwesigyire Havad, alias Nguru, a resident of Nyakatojo II Cell, Nyakashebeya Parish, Kashambya Sub-county in Rukiga District, is in police custody for allegedly defiling a 4-year-old girl.

According to reports, on 20/08/2024, at around 1930 hrs, the mother of the victim sent the child alone to the latrine with her mobile phone to use as a torch. However, the child delayed for over 10 minutes and, upon returning, told her mother that Nguru, their neighbor, had urinated on her legs.

When the mother checked, she found suspected semen around the child’s private parts, and her skirt was wet. She immediately reported the incident to the police, and a case file of aggravated defilement was opened.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Police Regional Spokesperson, says that a team of police officers visited the crime scene, recorded statements from witnesses, and arrested the suspect to assist in the investigation. It was confirmed that the suspect penetrated the child.

It is also alleged that the same suspect was previously caught red-handed having carnal knowledge with a female goat and was punished by public flogging.

Maate says inquiries are ongoing, and upon completion, the suspect will be arraigned before the courts of law to answer the charges accordingly.
