24-Year-Old Found Dead Outside Bar in Kabale

The police in Kabale are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 24-year-old Timothy Kamugisha, a casual labourer and resident of Kabale Municipality, whose body was found this morning at Igabiro Cell, Mwanjari Ward, Southern Division.

According to Elly Maate, the Police PRO for Kigezi Region, Kamugisha was last seen on August 11, 2025, at Docus Akampurira’s bar, where he was a regular customer. On Sunday, he reportedly arrived at the bar already drunk, was not served, and instead shared alcohol with some of his friends.

Maate said that while at the bar, Kamugisha began feeling dizzy and was carried outside, where he was placed on the veranda to recover. At around midnight, patrons left, the bar was closed, and he remained outside.

At about 6:40 a.m. today, he was found dead along the road. Police were notified, visited the scene, and documented evidence. His body was taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
