18-Year-Old Student Dies in Valentine’s Day Incident in Nansana

Police in Matugga are hunting for a man only identified as Herbert in connection with the murder of an 18-year-old student.

The deceased has been identified as Bukenya Martin, a student of Hillside Secondary School, and a resident of Kirinyabigo, Kawanaba Division in Wakiso District.

The incident occurred on 14 February 2026 at around 8:00pm in Mabanda Cell, Gombe Division, Nansana Municipality.

According to Racheal Kawala, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, preliminary findings indicate that at around 11:00pm on the same day, the suspect allegedly beat Bukenya Martin to death after finding him with his 14-year-old daughter in the suspect’s house in Mabanda Cell.

Following the incident, the suspect reportedly fled the scene with his entire family. Police say efforts are underway to track him down and bring him to justice.
