15 Police drivers suspended for causing Shillings 228,600,000 loss in repairs
The Uganda Police Force drivers who have been involved in serious accidents have been suspended from duty until their cases are disposed of. All police vehicles that have been involved in accidents have cost the force a total of 228,600,000 Ugandan shillings in repairs.
In a message addressed to all Directors, Unit Commanders, RPCs, DPCs and fleet management officers, head of Fleet management CP James Apora ordered for the drivers be suspended from driving police vehicles as investigations into case of accidents is ongoing and their cases are disposed of.
“All unit commanders are advised to take note of this message and not to deploy them to drive police vehicles. By copy of this message Director Traffic and Road Safety is kindly requested to expedite the investigations surrounding these accidents” Apora says.
Some of the suspended drivers include; Cpl Kidulu Samuel driver of vehicle Reg. No UP 4782 (UGX30,000,000), PC Oteede Tom driver of vehicle Reg. No UP 4776 (UGX30,000,000), SPC Aneno Amina driver of vehicle Reg. No UP 1929 (UGX10,000,000), PC Yeko Joseph driver of vehicle Reg. No UP 5736 (UGX9,000,000), PC Lemeriga Amidu driver of vehicle Reg. No UP 5743 (UGX5,000,000).
Others are; Kivengyere Elly driver of vehicle Reg. No UP 7632 (UGX6,000,000), PC Okeny Patrick driver of vehicle Reg. No UP 7735 (UGX20,000,000), Cpl Onyait David Victor driver of Vehicle Reg. No UP 5504 (25,000,000), Cpl Odong Kenneth driver of vehicle Reg. No UP 4844 (UGX4,000,000), Cpl Okot Moses vehicle Reg. No UP 5982 (UGX50,000,000), SPC Ogwal Joel Bob for UP 4756 (UGX7,000,000), PC Akampurira Brian vehicle Reg. No UP 4761 (UGX7,500,000), PC Ezuma Jimmy vehicle Reg.
