15 Entrepreneurs to Be Recognised at Mustard Seed Awards Dinner in Ntungamo

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to host the Mustard Seed Awards Dinner on 24 January 2026, where 15 entrepreneurs and industrialists will be recognised for their contributions to business development, employment creation, and industrial activity in Uganda.

According to Duncan Abigaba the media liasion for the Africa Coffee Park, the event will be held at the Park in Ntungamo District, coinciding with the President’s inspection visit to the facility. This will be his third inspection of the coffee value-addition project.

According to the organisers, the awards are intended to acknowledge private sector actors whose enterprises have played a role in Uganda’s economic and industrial growth.

The award recipients are:

  1. Barbara Mulwana – Chairperson, Presidential CEO Forum
  2. Gaster Lule – Managing Director and Co-founder, Ntake Bakery & Co. Ltd
  3. Paul Zhang – Chairman, TianTang Group and Founder, Sino-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park
  4. Sudhir Ruparelia – Chairman, Ruparelia Group of Companies
  5. Omar Mandela – Chairman, Mandela Group
  6. Aisha Monpara – Chairperson and Founder, Modern Group
  7. Hao Zhang – Managing Director and Chairman, Liao Shen Industrial Park
  8. Sikander Lalani – Managing Director, Roofings Group
  9. Barak Orland – Chief Executive Officer, BAR Aviation
  10. Amos Nzeyi – Chairman, Board of Directors, Crown Beverages
  11. Emmanuel Katongole – Executive Chairman, Cipla Quality Chemicals Ltd
  12. Joseph Yiga – Chairman and Founder, Steel and Tube Industries
  13. Idro Taban – Chief Executive Officer, Zero Waste Africa
  14. Jennifer Mwijukye – Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Unifreight Cargo Handling Ltd

The Africa Coffee Park occupies 150 acres and is designed as an industrial processing hub focused on coffee value addition. The facility is part of broader efforts to expand agro-processing and exports within the region.

The Park incorporates freeze-dry technology for instant coffee production, as well as facilities for coffee-based cosmetic products, energy drinks, and fertilizer manufacturing. It is designed as an integrated model combining industrial processing with tourism. The Park also serves as the anchor project for the planned USD 500 million Coffee City, which is expected to host allied industries, innovation hubs, and tourism-related infrastructure.
