10 Stolen Motorcycles Recovered in Old Kampala; Three Arrested
Police in Wakiso have arrested three suspects in connection with a spate of motorcycle robberies and recovered 10 suspected stolen motorcycles during an intelligence-led operation.
According to Uganda Police Force, the operation followed a report of aggravated robbery filed on February 13, 2026, at about 10:00 p.m. The victim, Ssesanga Equiam, reported that he had been attacked and robbed of his motorcycle, registration number UMA 191 DV (Bajaj Boxer). The assailants, allegedly armed with pangas, forcefully took the motorcycle.
Racheal Kawala, the Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, told the press that the suspects were arrested in Old Kampala, in the Bukesa–Nankulabye area. During the operation, officers recovered 10 motorcycles believed to have been stolen.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to involvement in multiple criminal activities, including motorcycle robberies, highway phone snatching, housebreaking, theft, and related offenses.
The recovered motorcycles bear the registration numbers UDH 516H, UGB 248V, UEV 046C, UDH 746H, UDK 657F, and UDN 001C. Four others are Bajaj motorcycles that were found without registration number plates.
Police investigations are ongoing.
