Warafiki clap back at Cindy
Cinderella Sanyu, alias Cindy came out and downplayed new singing trio Warafiki’s singing style, saying they are following in the footsteps of Blu *3, a group she was part of in the early 20s before leaving to start a solo career.
To further emphasize her point, Cindy also said that the trio are imitating Blu *3, the first girl group.
These statements have not settled down well with Warafiki who came out recently with teachings to Cindy.
Regarded as ‘History Lesson’, the Fenon Entertainment signed artists reminded Cindy that Blu *3 was not the first female group and that they are not imitating them. In fact, they started as a quadruple
“We were originally a four-member group, but due to certain circumstances, we remained three,” one of the members explained. “As a group, we aren’t trying to prove a point or be like anybody else. We are inspired by different people.”
They further revealed that they draw inspiration from international girl groups such as Flow (UK), Destiny’s Child, The Rosettes, and The Supremes, among others.
According to them, their vision and style are shaped by a broader musical history rather than just local predecessors.
