Makerere University 71st Graduation Ceremony has been postponed to May 7,2021due to what has been termed as ‘unforeseen issues.’
Management postponed the ceremony which had been scheduled to for March 18, 2021. According to Prof. Umar Kakumba the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, the postponement was based on the request of the University Ceremonies Committee which requested for more time for proper planning and organising the event.
He revealed that the University Ceremonies Committee is facing delays in the procurement process of gowns, which has always been a challenge even in the past.
According to Prof Kakumba, the extension was also inevitable as a section of graduate students also needed more time to finalize their research, prompting the university to postpone the ceremony.
