Arsenal has beaten Fulham to win the first game of the new Premier league. New guys Gabriel and Willian both impressed in the debut game.
Willian a former Chelsea winger had a hand in all three goals while Gabriel – a £23m signing from Lille – scored in his first game in English football.
Fulham caused themselves too many problems at the back. Alexandre Lacazette scored the opener from close range after Willian’s effort was saved.
Meanwhile, the defending champions Liverpool also won a tough game against Leeds United. Mohamed Salah completed his hat-trick with a late penalty to break off a 3-3 draw.
Salah – who scored two spot-kicks – had the last word to ensure Jurgen Klopp’s team start with a 4-3 win.
Jack Harrison, Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich all scored for Leeds.
In other games, West Ham is playing Newcastle tonight, while tomorrow Sunday, West Brom plays Leicester City and Tottenham plays Everton.
